Chad Henne's football journey began in the collegiate arena, where he showcased his skills as the starting quarterback for the University of Michigan. During his time there, he set several school records and became known for his strong arm and ability to read defenses. His performance in college caught the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

Henne's entry into the professional league was marked by a mix of challenges and opportunities. Initially serving as a backup, he gained valuable experience learning from veteran quarterbacks. His first significant playing time came in 2009 when he took over as the starter. Throughout his tenure with the Dolphins, he displayed flashes of potential, throwing for over 3,000 yards in multiple seasons. Despite facing ups and downs, including injuries and team struggles, Henne remained a reliable option under center.

In 2012, Henne transitioned to the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he continued to develop his game. His time with the Jaguars included moments of brilliance, particularly in relief appearances and as a starter. Henne's ability to step in during critical situations showcased his readiness and adaptability. He had a memorable performance in 2013, throwing for four touchdowns in a single game against the San Francisco 49ers, which highlighted his capability to lead an offense effectively.

After his stint with the Jaguars, Henne signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. This move marked a new chapter in his career, as he took on a backup role behind rising star Patrick Mahomes. Henne's experience and knowledge of the game proved invaluable to the Chiefs, both in practice and during games. He played a crucial role in the team's success, contributing to their Super Bowl LIV victory in 2020. His performance in the playoffs, particularly in a critical game against the Cleveland Browns, demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure.

Throughout his career, Henne was known for his professionalism and work ethic. He navigated the complexities of being a backup quarterback while also preparing diligently for any opportunity to play. His journey through various teams and roles in the NFL illustrated his adaptability and understanding of the game.
